Dermal Fillers

Frequently Asked Questions

Dermal fillers are safe, as long as they are administered by a fully trained and qualified practitioner with knowledge of facial anatomy as well as an aesthetic eye.

We offer free consultations to discuss your concerns and desired results, to recommend the most suitable treatment and to ensure you have all your questions answered.

At Derma7 we only use top range brands such as Restylane, Teosyal and Juvederm.

Dermal fillers are applied via injections and also using a cannula. Some areas are more sensitive than others, such as lips as they contain over a million nerve endings.

A topical numbing cream is applied prior to procedure to minimise pain however, you may experience some discomfort (similar to a sharp scratch) during the procedure.

All injectable treatments have a possibility of some side effects. Most common side effects are: bruising, swelling, tenderness, redness and itching. The point of injection can feel sensitive afterwards, often with lip fillers. These side effects should go away usually within 48 hours but can last up to 7 days.

The results of the dermal fillers are instant and depend on the treated area. You will look fresh and rejuvenated immediately after the treatment. It may take up to 14 days for the optimum results, as dermal fillers need some time to fully integrate and settle.

Dermal fillers are a popular, non-surgical treatment designed to restore volume, smooth lines, and enhance facial contours. They work by replenishing the hyaluronic acid naturally found in your skin, helping you achieve a more youthful, refreshed appearance without the need for invasive procedures. Dermal fillers are a clear injectable gel of various density that can target specific areas of the face. Common uses include:

  • Smoothing fine lines and wrinkles
  • Adding volume
  • Enhancing facial contours
  • Restoring youthful fullness

The results are immediate and typically last 9-12 months, sometimes even longer.

At Derma7, we are proud to use the best and the most renowned dermal filler brands such as Restylane, Teosyal and Juvederm – all of which contain non-animal derived hyaluronic acid, which makes the procedure suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

What fillers can do:

Lips – to add volume and to create shape & definition

Naso-labial folds – to get rid of the nose to mouth lines

Marionette lines – to smooth out the mouth to chin lines

Cheeks – to add volume and definition to cheekbones

Chin – to enhance a weak chin or to smooth out dimples

Jawline – to create a more defined jawline and enhance overall appearance of the face

PRP for Hair Loss

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is the best non-surgical treatment for men and women suffering from hair loss. It is a medical treatment in which a person’s blood is drawn, processed to separate the plasma, which is then injected into the scalp. The technique can address problems such as Androgenic Alopecia (also known as Male Pattern Baldness), reverse post-pregnancy and post-chemotherapy hair loss, improve hair calibre, promote new hair growth and stimulate the growth of hair transplants.

The treatments are carried out 4-6 weeks apart. On average, most patients will require 6 treatments. The results of PRP treatment are most noticeable after approximately six months. The results are not permanent and patients may require a touch-up session once or twice a year to maintain the hair growth effects.

The procedure is safe for people of any age and any skin type, but is not suitable for those who are taking blood thinners, have a medical condition relating to blood, conditions such as HIV or Hepatitis C, have or had cancer in the last 6 months or currently receiving chemotherapy.

Frequently Asked Questions

PRP is a safe procedure, as it contains platelets derived from patient’s own blood. No additives are being injected, which makes the risks associated with the treatment very low. The main risks include local infection, which are less than 1% chance. This treatment should be carried out by a fully qualified practitioner. PRP is not suitable for those with certain medical conditions.

Most people will experience some discomfort as the procedure involves a number of injections. At Derma7 we want to make our clients as comfortable as possible and you will be offered a topical numbing cream. However, we advise against the use of the topical anaesthetic, as clinical studies show the results are more effective without a use of a numbing cream.

As the injections contain plasma drawn from the patient’s own blood, the side effects are minimal. PRP may cause mild bruising, tenderness, swelling, or redness at the points of injections. An infection may occur, but this is rare.

A number of clinical studies showed proven results in increasing hair count and hair thickness. Most patients can expect the results from the PRP therapy to last for 6-12 months or more.

Profhilo

Profhilo is the revolutionary injectable treatment, made with the patented NAHYCO technology. It has one of the highest concentrations of pure hyaluronic acid on the market. Once injected, Profhilo works by slowly releasing the hyaluronic acid and stimulating production of different types of collagens and elastin. This results in significant tissue improvement, as well as lifting and tightening effect.

Profhilo not only boosts and hydrates the skins, it remodels the ageing and sagging tissue. The most common treatment areas are: face, neck, décolletage, hands, arms, knees and abdomen. This treatment is suitable for both men and women.

After the procedure most people will experience mild swelling, redness and bruising, which is normal. The side effects are usually minor. Rare side effects can include allergic reaction and infection.

Most people notice a refreshed appearance even a week after the first treatment, however, the full results can be seen 4 weeks after the second treatment.

Vampire Facial

Vampire Facial is one of the most-effective anti-ageing treatments out there. The treatment gives our body a natural ability to reduce the signs of ageing by growing new healthier skin cells. The benefits are a fresher, firmer and younger looking skin in a natural way.

During the procedure, a person’s blood is drawn, processed to separate the plasma which is then injected back into the skin with a number of injections or using a microneedling device. A topical numbing cream is used to minimise pain.

It takes about 2-3 weeks for the results to be visible and most patients should notice improved skin texture and glow, which can last for a year. For best results 3-6 sessions are recommended 4-6 weeks apart.

The procedure is minimally invasive with very little downtime. The side effects of Vampire Facial are very minimal and may include swelling, tingling, burning, itching and bruising.

The procedure is safe for people of any age and any skin type but is not suitable for those who are taking blood thinners, have a medical condition relating to blood, conditions such as HIV or Hepatitis C, have or had cancer in the last 6 months or currently receiving chemotherapy.

Vampire Facial is great for boosting your skin’s cell turnover, triggering collagen and elastin production, smoothing fine lines and wrinkles, and breaking up and healing scar tissue. The treatment can be carried out by injecting the plasma into the skin using fine needles or with a microneedling device, however, using fine needles can reduce recovery and redness downtime from a couple of days to 24 hours.

Vampire Facelift

Frequently Asked Questions

Vampire Facelift is a safe injectable procedure, as long as it is carried out by a fully qualified Practitioner. Injections contain platelets derived from patient’s own blood mixed with hyaluronic acid. The risks associated with the treatment are very low. The main risks include local infection, which is less than 1% chance. Vampire Facelift is not suitable for those with hyaluronic acid allergy and certain medical conditions.

As the injections contain plasma drawn from the patient’s own blood and a small amount of hyaluronic acid, the side effects are minimal. The treatment may cause mild bruising, tenderness, swelling, or redness at the point of injections. An infection may occur, but this is rare.

Vampire Facelift is great for boosting your skin’s cell turnover, triggering collagen and elastin production, smoothing fine lines and wrinkles, breaking up and healing scar tissue, as well as giving your skin plumpness and glow. The treatment can be carried out by injecting the plasma into the skin using fine needles or with a microneedling device, however, using fine needles can reduce recovery and redness downtime from a couple of days to 24 hours.

Vampire Facelift is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that uses the patient’s own blood. Unlike Vampire Facial which only uses patient’s own plasma, a Vampire Facelift injects both plasma and a small amount of hyaluronic acid. The hyaluronic acid instantly smoothes wrinkles and creases, while the PRP is responsible for improving skin’s overall glow.

The procedure can make skin look firmer and more elastic. You will notice immediate plumping and smoothing, which is a result of the filler. It takes about 2-3 weeks for the results to be visible and most patients should notice improved skin texture and glow, which can last for a year and sometimes as long as 18 months. For best results 3-6 sessions are recommended 4-6 weeks apart.

The procedure lasts less than an hour and should have minimal downtime. After blood is drawn from patient’s arm, the Practitioner will separate the platelets from the rest of the blood using a centrifuge machine and the platelet enriched plasma will then be injected into your skin along with hyaluronic acid.

Patients will experience some redness immediately after the procedure, which will go down after 24 hours. The side effects of Vampire Facelift are very minimal and may include swelling, tingling, burning, itching and bruising. A reaction to hyaluronic acid can happen, although this is very rare.

The procedure is safe for people of any age and any skin type but is not suitable for those who are taking blood thinners, have a medical condition relating to blood, such as HIV or Hepatitis C, have or had Cancer in the last 6 months or currently receiving chemotherapy.

Skin Boosters

Skin Boosters are an anti-ageing injectable treatment, which contains a unique formula of essential amino acids and hyaluronic acid. The treatment helps to fight the visible signs of ageing and helps to restore damaged skin by creating bio-regeneration.

At Derma7 we use top brands such as Sunekos and Jalupro.

As we age, our collagen production slows down and wrinkles start to appear. The treatment helps to boost the collagen and elastin production, giving the skin elasticity, plumpness and overall younger looking appearance.

The treatment is versatile and can be used to treat areas around the face and body, including the forehead, neck, décolletage, hands, arms and knees. It is an injectable treatment that can be carried out in less than 30 minutes with no downtime. Typically, 4 sessions are required at 10 – 14 days apart for optimum results.

The results of the treatment are visible within 7-10 days after the initial treatment and will improve over time. The results usually last for about 6 months.

Sunekos & Jalupro are ideal for those wanting to achieve natural looking skin and subtle results.

Frequently Asked Questions

Skin Boosters are safe, as long as they are administered by a fully trained and qualified Practitioner. They contain hyaluronic acid and amino acids, which naturally occur in our body. At Derma7 we use Sunekos and Jalupro brands, which have undergone extensive testing to ensure the safety of the products and they are CE marked.

Most people will experience some discomfort as the procedure involves a number of injections. At Derma7 we want to make our clients as comfortable as possible and you will be offered a topical numbing cream.

Immediately after the treatment you will notice small bumps under the skin, but these will disappear within couple of hours. The most common side effects are mild swelling, bruising and redness immediately following treatment. These should disappear within 24-48 hours. Your practitioner will discuss any possible side effects, answer your questions and advise on aftercare you should adhere to following the treatment.

Results take from 7 – 10 days after treatment, which will improve over time and usually last for around six months, though a wide variety of factors can have an impact on this, including lifestyle, sun exposure and the unique properties of your skin.

Microneedling

Frequently Asked Questions

Microneedling is a safe procedure as long as it is carried out by a fully trained and qualified professional. It involves a number of small needles penetrating the skin as the same time at a 90degree angle in order to cause minor trauma and activate skin’s natural healing response. This treatment is ideal for those who suffer from acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles.

Most people will experience some discomfort, as the procedure involves a number of small needles entering the skin simultaneously. At Derma7 we want to make our clients as comfortable as possible and you will be offered a topical numbing cream.

The areas of treatment will feel tender or sore after the treatment due to trauma caused by the needles. The purpose of the treatment is to create minor trauma to the skin in order to start the healing process. There will be some redness (similar to sunburn), tenderness and some people can experience minor bruising. The redness will subdue after 24 hours.

We recommend starting with 3 treatments 28 days apart, however this depends on the condition of the area treated. Some people may require 6 treatments. You skin concerns and the correct treatment plan will be discussed during your consultation. You will start noticing the improvement in skin quality after 7-10 days after your first treatment.

Microneedling is a non-invasive treatment which gives your skin its natural ability to repair and restore itself by increasing collagen and elastin production in the body. It is a safe and very popular procedure that has a very minimal downtime and is suitable for all skin types.

Microneedling is ideal for those who suffer from acne scarring, large pores, fine lines and wrinkles, stretch marks, burn scars, alopecia and other skin concerns.

A topical numbing cream is applied to the area prior to treatment to minimise any pain. We apply a medium-weight hyaluronic acid serum during and after the procedure. This helps to increase skin hydration and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, leaving the skin looking smoother and radiant.

Typically, 3 treatments are required at 4 weeks apart.

Microneedling works best when used in combination with PRP (Vampire Facial).

Fat Dissolving

Fat dissolving is a safe and effective non-surgical injectable treatment that produces long-lasting results. The procedure uses a solution of deoxycholic acid to safely and effectively eliminate small and large stubborn pockets of fat which are resistant to diet and exercise.

When the product is injected into the problem area it starts to work immediately by attaching to fatty deposits and dissolving the fat cells, which are then flushed out of the body.

Popular areas for fat dissolving are: chin, arms, underarms, saddle bags, stomach, hips and thighs. The treatment is minimally invasive, quick and effective. Typically, small areas require 1-3 treatments and large areas 3-8 treatments, carried out 4-6 weeks apart.

At Derma7 we use CE marked top brands such as Aqualyx and Deso.

After the procedure most people may experience some swelling, redness and bruising, which is normal, and these may last for up to a week. Side effects are usually minor and we advise clients to use cooling pads on the treated areas. Anti-inflammatory medication is not recommended as this can counteract with the treatment.

Most people will start to notice a reduction in fatty deposits in small areas after about 2-3 weeks. Larger areas may take slightly longer. The treatment is not a weight loss solution and is recommended for those who cannot get rid of stubborn fat in certain areas.

Polynucleotides

Frequently Asked Questions

Polynucleotide treatments are generally considered safe when performed by a qualified and experienced practitioner. We will discuss your concerns and answer all your questions during a consultation.

PLEASE NOTE: Polynucleotides are not suitable for vegetarians and vegans and those with fish allergies.

Polynucleotide treatments are generally well tolerated, and most people find them only mildly uncomfortable. The injections are done with very fine needles, and the practitioner will apply a topical numbing cream beforehand.

The most common side effects include redness, slight swelling, bruising, and tenderness at the injection sites. You might also notice small bumps under the skin immediately after treatment – these are normal and usually settle within 24–72 hours. Some people experience mild itching or sensitivity in the treated area as the skin begins to respond and repair. In rarer cases, there can be prolonged swelling, minor infection, or delayed healing, particularly if aftercare advice isn’t followed properly. Serious complications are uncommon. To minimise risks, it’s important to follow all pre- and post-treatment instructions.

Polynucleotide treatments deliver gradual, natural-looking improvements rather than instant, dramatic changes. As the skin begins to repair and regenerate at a cellular level, most people notice increased hydration, smoother texture, and a healthier overall glow within a few weeks. Over time, the stimulation of collagen and elastin leads to firmer, more elastic skin, with a visible reduction in fine lines and improved skin quality. The treatment can also help soften acne scars, reduce redness, and improve the appearance of delicate areas such as under the eyes. Results typically build over a course of treatments and continue to improve for several weeks after each session. With maintenance, the effects can be long-lasting, leaving the skin looking refreshed, plumper, and more resilient without appearing overdone.

Polynucleotides are natural molecules derived from salmon and trout DNA. In nature, polynucleotides are the building blocks that carry the body’s instructions for how to grow and repair itself. In aesthetic treatments, they are used for their powerful ability to support the skin’s natural healing and renewal processes. In simple terms, polynucleotides help “wake up” your skin cells. They encourage the production of collagen and elastin, which are the proteins responsible for keeping skin firm, smooth, and youthful. They also help improve hydration and repair damage, making the skin look healthier and more refreshed over time. Polynucleotides work gently and naturally with your skin rather than against it. The result is a subtle, long-lasting improvement in skin quality – softer, more radiant skin that looks naturally rejuvenated.

For best results, a course of 2–3 treatments is usually recommended, spaced a few weeks apart. Maintenance sessions every 6–12 months can help prolong and enhance the results.

At Derma7 we use only the best and CE marked products, such as Plinest and Vitamin.
